World famous portrait artist Paul Collins visited Underground Railroad Days in 2013 and offered to do a show and sale of his work to benefit the Bonine House.  Shown here is the renowned painting of Harriet Tubman purchased for the Bonine House by board member Larry Sehy.  Click below to see a video of Paul Collins' show in October, 2013.

Jerry Schlundt is shown presenting his oil paintings of James E. and Sarah Bogue Bonine to the Bonine House in June of 2015.  He used These original Photographs as models.  The portraits hang in the stairway of the house.

Don did this beautiful carving of the Bonine House as a fundraising project in 2012.  It was raffled off and the winner was Leonard Carlberg.  Leonard passed away early in 2013.  Don and Nancy Korrech donated the piece to the Bonine House in his memory.

Deb uses found objects to create her layered, meaningful multi media collages..  This is her interpretation of Harriett Tubman being guided by an angel she claimed kept her safe, flying over Cass County.

During our first "Christmas at the Bonine House" 1n 2012 Gary whipped up this painting on the living room wall in less than three days!  Santa and his sleigh and reindeer are reflected in the mirror.  WNDU channel 16 did a live story on the celebration, so Gary paid a little homage to them.   This painting has been painted over but we keep it here for the memories.

Bonine House Art

Several artistic approaches have been taken to represent various aspects of  the Bonine House as well as the Underground Railroad.  The pieces are displayed throughout the house.
